If you are experiencing video stuttering issues, we suggest you check the following:
1. If you own a plasma TV (Panasonic or Pioneer for example), disabling the automatic 24p framerate in the video settings of the R_volution Player may give better results.
2. If your stuttering issue concerns 4K HDR movies at 60fps (Billy Lynn, Gemini Man), it might be because your HDD isn't fast enough. In this case, try using an SSD drive.
3. If your files are located on a NAS, we invite you to try placing certain files on a HDD connected via USB (or internal). If this works, there is a problem on your local network or a network switch issue. In this case, try bypassing the switch. If it works, replace the switch. However, If you are using a Synology NAS, we strongly recommend that you format your drives in BTRFS.
4. If your jerky files are on an internal or external hard drive, try moving them to another hard drive or large USB device. If this works, try partitioning your faulty hard drive. Otherwise, try reformatting it to ExFAT. If this does not resolve the problem, repair it using computer repair tools or replace it.
5. If you use an AV receiver, try connecting your R_volution Player directly to your TV with a short HDMI cable. If it works, try with your old cable but still directly to your TV. If this does not work, the cable must be replaced. This can happen if the cable is very long. If this works, there is probably a problem with the second cable or with your AV receiver.
6. Try setting your player to YCbCr 4:4:4 / 10-bit color space (Setup > Display).
7. If you experience stuttering on files encoded at 24,000p, it's probably because your TV is not natively compatible with 24,000 Hz (this is not part of the video standards). In this case, re-encode these files to 23.976p or try disabling the Auto Framerate (Setup > Display).
