Streaming apps such as Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, AppleTV+ only work correctly on certified devices running AndroidTV. The problem is that AndroidTV is not at all suitable for playing video files and is relatively restricted. For this reason, we opted for players running classic Android in order to preserve the video playback functionality from files without the limitations that we might have had under AndroidTV.
The other side of the coin is that most streaming apps don't work at all under classic Android and the few apps that do work are restricted.
As of today, the Prime Video app is working, but it could stop at any time. It is also limited to 1080p resolution in stereo audio.
On the other hand, YouTube is perfectly functional in 4K or even 8K for the PlayerOne 8K.
