This tutorial will walk you through how to include the poster in your MKV files to display the poster on the right side of R_volution Explorer when exploring your video files.
Image preparation
1) First of all, you need to create an image file with a size of 600x800 and another smaller one with a size of 120x160 (thumbnail).
2) Name the files as follows:
For the normal poster, name it "cover.jpg"
You can also include the name of the video file in the name of the poster, but the name of the JPG file must include "cover" at the beginning of the name.
Example for the film "Metropolis": "cover-metropolis.jpg"
For the thumbnail, name the file as follows:
"small_cover.jpg" or "cover-metropolis.jpg" if you want to include the name of the movie.

Multiplexing
3) Download and install mkvtoolnix (Linux, Windows and Mac compatible) available at the following address:
https://mkvtoolnix.download/downloads.html
The Windows version is available here:
https://mkvtoolnix.download/downloads.html#windows
4) Once installed and launched, you can upload the mkv file of the movie whose poster you want to add. In the source tab, you get details of the composition of the MKV file.
5) It is in the “attachments” tab that you can add the poster(s) of the film, the name and the format of the images.
You can limit yourself to a single poster but using a thumbnail will allow faster display.
Once the poster is added you can click on “Start multiplexing”
mkvtoolnix will create a new mkv file identical to the original file but with the addition of the poster.
6) Now in R_volution Explorer you will see the movie cover on the right side of the screen.
